Andrew Wallace currently lives in Fish Creek, Victoria, Australia. He grew up in Melbourne and has spent 2 1/2 years in Tasmania, a year on the road around Australia and seven years in north-eastern Victoria. His photography has evolved from early days with a black & white darkroom to his current mix of landscapes, experimental and semi-abstract digital imagery.
His work has been published in Victorian and Tasmanian newspapers, regional tourist guides and the RACV Royal Auto magazine. His hand-made cards have been sent by loyal customers around the world and collected locally while his framed works hang on the walls of residences in Australia, France and England.
His work has also appeared on a range of diverse online sites including the ABC and ABC Radio, as stills in two independent films and in a presentation at the Royal Greenwich Observatory Planetarium.
He has exhibited his work in joint shows at the Benalla Arts Festival in 2003 and 2005, the Winton show in 2006, the Muse Gallery, Millawa in 2009 and won 1st prize at the Auldstone Cellars Winery 2007 exhibition.
In early 2010 three of his works were voted into the peoples choice top ten at the Hobart Photographic Society Exhibition at Mawsons Place.
In 2011 and 2012 he exhibited at the Lovett Gallery, Cygnet, was part of the Weld Echo exhibition in Hobart and won the "excellence in photography award" at the Southern Exposure exhibition in Cygnet.
In 2012 he won the botanical section of the 2012 ANZANG Nature Photography competition and was a finalist in the monochrome section in 2015.
In 2019 he exhibited at the Magnet Gallery Summer Salon and his Red Venice exhibition was shown at Art on Piper in Kyneton and the Magnet Gallery in Melbourne.
He has taught various courses including an introduction to digital photography, photoshop for photographers workshops and has been a regular guest camera club judge. He has assisted Wolfgang Glowacki with beginner and intermediate photography workshops around Hobart and has sold his works at various markets in Melbourne.
